Catherine Arthur
Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Catherine “Cat” Arthur. MSN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-C, is a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of experience. She has continuously advocated for the emotional and physical well-being of children, adolescents, and families. With a background in pediatrics, women’s health, public health and school health, she has the knowledge and sensitivity to provide holistic, compassionate care to every child and family she serves.
Cat has been working in mental health for over 4 years helping adolescents and young adults navigate emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges — including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, substance use, and trauma. As an adoptive parent herself, she has a personal understanding of the unique joys and complexities that come with adoption. She uses trauma-informed, evidence-based practices to help children and families strengthen connections, build resilience, and grow together.
Outside of her professional life, Cat finds balance and energy through running and spending time outdoors. She loves to camp and hike with her cockapoos - Bailey, Luna, and Paige. She brings that same sense of balance, curiosity, and optimism to her work with youth and families.
Throughout her career, Cat has developed and led community Health Fairs, mentored nursing students, and built local partnerships that expand access to care for children and families within the surrounding school district. Her warm, whole-family approach emphasizes collaboration, strengths, and long-term wellness.
Cat is currently accepting new patients in Livermore, Orinda, and virtually throughout California.
