Dr. Paul Elizondo is a Triple Board-Certified Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Forensic Psychiatrist providing evidence-based, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent affirming treatment in Orinda, CA.. Dr. Elizondo’s philosophy can be summed up in the term “family psychiatry”. He takes a holistic approach to evaluating the genetic and generational contributions to the health of the family system.

He graduated from Stanford University and earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University. Dr. Elizondo completed his residency and fellowship training at UCSF, where he also served as a volunteer Assistant Clinical Professor.

He has extensive experience providing psychiatric care in various settings, including outpatient services for youth and families as well as care for incarcerated adolescents and adults. He also works with adolescents facing severe mental health and substance use disorders at Newport Academy.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Elizondo lectures on topics such as child development, cognitive behavioral therapy, and intensive psychiatric management at UCSF. He is also a frequent expert witness in forensic psychiatry, specializing in areas such as trauma, child abuse, violence risk assessment, and legal competency.

Dr. Paul is currently accepting new patients for those who reside in California. Appointments are currently being offered both in-person and via telehealth.
